Kumu Ane, Kumu Peiterson, and Kumu Tai shared a rich 3 station Hokule'a experience with the Explorers. The children learned about mauka and makai then put together a model of the Hokule'a. They had to determine packing needs vs wants. They decided what kinds and how much food was needed for a voyage. They even had to determine the best way to pack water keeping balance in mind. They went through a typical day including eating, fishing, steering, turning the sails, watching, and sleeping. Thank you to our wonderful Kumu for such a fabulous morning!
