Malama Kai...caring for our ocean. That's exactly what we did on our visit to Maunalua Bay. We learned about and explored seaweed including those invasive to the bay. We then went to work pulling out the invasive gorilla ogo and leather mudweed. The Explorers removed 300 lbs of invasive algae helping the "good algae" to grow. A big thank you to Brian, Christine, Kapono, Karen, Reyn, Scott, and Sheldon for helping the children remove the invasive algae, keeping them wondering through their questions and enthusiasm, and helping them wash up when we were done! We couldn't have done it without them!
